Did you know a workers’ compensation claim must be filed within 2 years from the date of an accidental injury on the job? North Carolina statutes provide that :
“The right to compensation shall be forever barred unless a written claim is filed with the Industrial Commission within two years after the date of the accident.”
If you have been delaying contacting an attorney to see if you might have a case, please keep that deadline in mind. Remember also that occupational diseases (conditions arising from the hazards of the job) have a different standard. It is better to ask sooner rather than later!
