Breaking News: 21-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash Caused by Swerving Driver
August 20 , 2024Rowan County, North Carolina — August 16, 2024 — According to WBTV and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a woman was killed in a crash around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 152 and Teeter Road.
The woman, who was 21, was driving a white Mercedes and stopped facing north at the intersection of Highway 152 and Teeter Road.
A Ford F-550 work truck was heading east on Highway 152. Troopers said that the truck couldn’t stop and swerved to the right to avoid hitting the cars in front of him.
Highway patrol said the driver of the truck went through the intersection, where he hit the Mercedes. The woman died on the scene.
The driver of the truck is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to maintain lane control.
