Breaking News: 19-Year-Old Worker Shocked, Killed at Water Treatment Plant
July 22 , 2024Rocky Mount, North Carolina — July 21, 2024 — According to WITN, 19-year-old Trace Christman died after he was shocked while working on an electrical junction box at the Leaston Road water treatment plant. The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. The city says that after shocked, Christman fell into the water at the pumping station.
“The tragic loss of Trace Christman, a young employee with a bright future, is deeply saddening,” said City Manager Keith Rogers. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Christman family and the greater Rocky Mount community.”
In addition to the city, the North Carolina Department of Labor is investigating the workplace fatality.
