Don’t risk it–Always report your workers’ comp injury

August 15 , 2018

Some of my clients tell me that they hesitate to report their workers’ compensation injury because of loyalty to their employer. One of them told me that he thought the employer was going to take care of him and he didn’t want to harm them by filing a W.C. claim, so he agreed to a deal offered by his employer. The employer would put him at a desk job until he got better from his surgery and he wouldn’t file a claim. Soon after, the son came into the business and forced the employer to replace him. Because he had not filed a claim, he had no benefits.

Other clients don’t report an injury because they just don’t want to have to go through all of the “stuff” that goes along with it. Workers hope that they will get better and dread doing something extra or having to see the doctors.

The reality is that you need to be honest with yourself about your injury and get help immediately. Then report the injury to your employer within 30 days. To be safe, consult with a Board Certified Charlotte workers’ compensation attorney. I have helped hundreds of clients obtain the help they needed and deserved. Contact Ramsay Law Firm, P.A. today to get started. #hurtatwork, #voicefortheinjured, #alwaysreportwcinjury
